Married At: Marriage Commissioners Office , 309 Third St. South
This was a great day for Luanne and I. Arrived Vegas at 11:30 Thursday the 13th, 2003. Checked in at the Las Vegas Hilton. Grabed a cab to the Marriage Burreau 200, Third Street South. I had already had the applications downloaded from the net, and filled in except for the date. Long line up at the marriage licence burreau but the lined moved fast, wonderful staff. After obtaining a licence walked a block south to the Commisssioners office at 309 Third Street South. Talked to the people at the office, and checked it out. We could have got married then but wanted to get married on Valintines day. People at the Commissioners office very friendly and helpful. Walked up to freemont Street and caught a bus back to the Hilton Hotel.
Up early on Valentines day, ( time change) leisurely dressed at the the Hotel. Grabbed a cab down to the Commisioners office arrived at about 7:55 AM. They open at 8 :00 AM. First in line, Married at 8:15 AM beautiful ceremony. Couple next in Line took our Pictures. Walked up to Freemont Street- the line today at the marrage licence bureau now around the block LOL. Stop at the Golden Nugget Starbucks for a coffee, walked up Freemont Street over to the Main Street Station. Had a great breakfast at the Garden Court Buffet. Were given VIP treatment in a secluded corner. After breakfast back to the Hilton Hotel by cab. Had a morning nap. :) Then changed and down to the strip by Trolley. Toured the sites. Back to the Hilton about 5:00 PM. Changed again :) then down for dinner at about 7:00 PM at the Hilton. Attending the Lonestar Concert at the Hilton Theater ( absolute great show), played some slots did some dancing, then to bed by 1:30 am :)
Total Cost of the day: cab to marriage burreau $8.50, Marriage licence $55.00, bus back to hotel $4.00, ceremony fee $50.00, cab to ceremony $8.50, breakfast, $12.50; cab back to hotel $10.50, trolley to the strip $3.30; cab back from Mirrage hotel to Hilton $10.00; dinner including wine $20.00; Lonestar tickets $104.00; $20.00 at the slots; tips $10.00 = $296.80 Do not know of anywhere else in the world you can get married, have Lonestar play at the reception live, all for under $300.00. Seems to beat the hassles of the marriage chapels.
A little research pays off, all the info is available on the net, including the operating hours and fees. Just makes a wonderful day even better. We would like to thank all the pepole in Las Vegas from cab drivers, to hotel staff for your outstanding service and helpful information. We had a wonderful , wonderful time.
